Living in California, we know that it’s just a matter of time before the big earthquake will come. Not if, but when. We have replenished our earthquake supply kit from time to time over the years, but neglected it in recent years. Miranda’s science teacher gave all the kids the assignment in March to show that the family earthquake kit was well stocked, so that gave us the push we needed to get ourselves well-prepared once again.
Here are the contents of our kit:
In addition to non-perishable foods, be sure to have tools, sturdy shoes for some long walking over glass and nails, and some cash. Those ATM machines will not be working for a few days. Also, it’s nice to have a barbecue or hibachi, since there will be no gas or electricity for cooking.
